Creating The Look: Janet Collection Human Hair King Yaky Weaving Quick Weave

The King Yaky video was pretty popular and so I want to ensure that I walk you guys through the look from head to boot (if you saw the video, you’d get what I was saying – for your viewer convenience, I posted it at the bottom).

Here are the steps I took to create the quick weave look for the King Yaky Weave

 The Hair:

  • Decide where or how you want your hair parted
  • Make the part and bush hair back into a very low ponytail (as low as you can get it)
  • Braid down the hair in ponytail and pin it to your head flat as possible
  • Once you have a nice flat surface, apply Morning Glory

**Morning Glory – This is a grow protect substance for your hair that you can get at your local BSS (Beauty Supply Store).**
It is important to ensure you cover every piece of hair with the Morning Glory! If you miss any part your hair is susceptible to getting glue in it and it will be a (insert curse word) to get out!  It’s also damaging.

Once you have covered the hair with Morning Glory, dry the hair
A protective layer should be on the hair that’s hard
You can begin to apply tracks
I measure the tracks against my head to determine the length before cutting
Once I have cut the track, I add glue to the track (I used Salon Pro 30 Sec)
I apply the track to my head and take a blow dryer to hold it over the track and “lock” the glue

You will add these tracks all the way to the top, turning  your pieces sideways along the part
Once I got to the top, I added a closure (Premade and purchased from the store)

You can make a closure from the hair if you have enough left (I would consult YouTube for that)

**If you have applied the Morning Glory correct and dried it properly, once you wash it to get it out the tracks will easily slide right off and out of your head.  No tangles, no residue, no left over glue.**

The Clothes

The hat was purchased from the same BSS store I got the Morning Glory and 30 Sec glue
The shirt was from Livin’ Life. It was a long sleeve thermal from http://www.livinlifeco.com/
The jeans – Honestly I can’t remember, but nothing special
Now – THE BOOTS! Those were the main attraction
I got them from a place here in Atlanta called ShoeLand (there are a few locations around Atlanta) I was addicted to shopping there at one point!

I did some searching to see if I can find this boot by brand in case you guys do not have a ShoeLand and here is what I came up with…NADA L

Brand: HerStyle
Style: Tenna
Type: Boot
Color: Pink

SINCE I COULD NOT FIND IT, I HAD AN IDEA - I WENT TO SHOELAND (SINCE IT IS SEEMINGLY EXCLUSIVE TO ATLANTA) I WENT AND PURCHASED TWO EXTRA PAIR! I FOUND THEM AND WILL BE GIVING THEM IN A CONTEST!!!! STAY TUNED.
